Four great leaders were assassinated in the 1960's — a time of global unrest and revolution. Each of these men was advocating for peace, justice, and equality; and each was killed before his visions were realized. Today, within our country, and in our communities, we struggle with the same issues that these leaders, and others like them, fought and died for. We are compelled to ask ourselves: What would the world look like today if any, or all, of these great leaders had lived? What role might the government have played in each of their deaths? And, finally — and most importantly — why does it matter today?

Project Unspeakable is partnering with Convergences Theatre Collective in NYC.

This fall, under the leadership of Jeremy Williams, Convergences Theatre Collective will produce a theatrical lab with Project Unspeakable playwright Court Dorsey and a team of professional theatre artists. This lab will workshop attributes of the play's main character and develop final elements of the story and script. On February 21, 2015, CTC will produce a staged reading of the production script of Project Unspeakable. This reading will play its part in a larger commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Malcolm X, held in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City. The reading and the surrounding event will include political leaders, social activists, celebrity actors, and members and leaders of the local community.
